Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Retire My Parents collects and how it is handled.
Effective September 23, 2026
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide, such as contact-form details, contribution display preferences, a dedication, and public name or location choices. Payments are processed by Stripe; Retire My Parents does not store your full card number. Stripe’s own privacy practices apply to payment information. Our hosting and security systems may automatically receive basic technical information such as your IP address, browser or device type, pages viewed, and referring source. We do not currently use separate advertising analytics or marketing cookies.
How information is used
We use information to process contributions, operate One Million Lights, respond to messages, prevent abuse, maintain security, provide requested copies, and share project updates. Participant information appears publicly only when the participant explicitly authorizes it.
Services that help run the project
Stripe processes payments. Resend handles project email. Lovable Cloud stores project data, and Lovable provides application and hosting infrastructure. These providers process information as reasonably necessary to deliver their services and under their own terms and privacy practices.
Selling and sharing data
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers needed to operate the project, when reasonably necessary to protect the project or others, or when required by law.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to run the project, keep accurate financial and participation records, respond to requests, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
Your requests
To ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you provided, contact us through the website contact form. Some records may need to be retained for payment, security, or legal reasons.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
This policy may change as the project or the services it uses change. The effective date below will be updated when material revisions are made.
