• Retire My Parents is a personal crowdfunding project and social experiment, not a charity.
• The goal is to create enough financial freedom for my mom to stop working and for my parents to enjoy retirement together.
• The larger social experiment asks: how much impact can be created when a lot of people each do something very small?
• One million participants is the dream. It is not a requirement for this project to be successful.
• Funds raised are intended as a personal gift to help my parents enjoy retirement with greater freedom, including family time, travel, hobbies, and quality of life.
• Contributions are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations.
• The ask is $1. People may give more, but every person counts as one participant and receives exactly one light.
• Any applicable payment-processing fees will be disclosed clearly.
• Progress and updates are shared publicly as the experiment unfolds.
